Why does this safari change camps throughout the week?

The Kruger National Park is roughly the size of Israel, and the wildlife in the south is vastly different from the north. By staying at three different rest camps (Southern, Central, and Northern), we ensure you aren’t just seeing the same area every day. This allows us to track “regional” specialists like the rare Eland in the north and the high-density Lion prides of the south.

Is there a lot of driving involved in a "South-to-North" traverse?

While we cover a significant distance (roughly 350km), the journey is designed as a “slow safari.” The transitions between camps are conducted as extended game drives in our open safari vehicles. You won’t feel like you are “traveling” between points; instead, you are simply exploring a 7 day continuous wildlife corridor.

What should I pack for a cross-park expedition?

Because the northern Kruger is typically warmer and drier than the south, we recommend layering your clothing. You will experience cool morning starts in the open vehicle and much warmer afternoons as we head toward the Limpopo border. Don’t forget high-quality binoculars and extra memory cards for your camera, you will encounter a huge variety of birdlife and landscapes.
