Day 1: Phalaborwa - Kruger Park

On entering the Kruger National Park through the Kruger Gate, we start your game drive with your ranger making your way up to camp for lunch. After lunch and the day being a bit cooler we start off on your first exciting game drive of the day, hoping to spot as many animals as possible before making our way to camp before the sun sets. After check in and making sure you are comfortable your guide will give you the time to meet him in the restaurant for dinner, and to explain the next days activities.

Days 2: Kruger Park

Everything starts early in the Kruger park in order to have a greater chance of seeing game, we depart camp early morning so that you have a better chance of possibly spotting a Leopard on the prowl or Lions enjoying an early morning meal or marking territory along the road. After a leisurely breakfast at one of the camps we’ll continue with our game drive, this time stopping off at some of the water holes . Your game ranger is keeping an ever- watchful eye on the sky for Eagles soaring on the thermals. You’ll see plenty of birds too – there are more than 500 species present in the Park. (During the heat of the day in the summer months we may return to camp mid-day and leave again three hours before gate closing.

Days 3: Kruger Park

This morning you will experience another early morning departure before the heat of the day, possibly spotting a few cats, rhinos and elephants along the way and watching the never to be forgotten African Sunrise. Your ranger listens to the radio to hear of any action taking place as well as keeping an ever watchful eye out for any sightings of kills along the way that could be happening or have already happened in the night. Huge herds of Buffalo can also be spotted enjoying the sweet early morning dew on the grass or just lying eating their cud keeping a watchful eye out for any predators in the area. After breakfast your game drive continues returning to camp once again by mid day for a break from the heat of the day , giving you time to relax by the pool or enjoy a good Siesta before embarking on your Sunset / Nigt game drive returning for dinner early evening.

Days 4: Kruger Park

Of course this morning we are up early once again and full of energy as we face another morning in Africa this time your guide will be on the lookout for the Cheetah if not already spotted on your previous mornings game drives and the elusive Leopard and possibly a Wild dog if not already spotted while on safari. After breakfast its out and about again returning to camp mid day in order to have a break before departing late afternoon on a short drive returning to camp at gate closing time.

Day 5: Kruger Park – Johannesburg

Your last morning in the African bushveld enjoying a beautiful one last sunrise and possibly a glimpse of the Big 5 before enjoying breakfast. We make our way out of the Kruger arriving back in Phalaborwa by Mid-day with a drop off at your Hotel/ Guest House or back to the Airport.

  • Our guide was Gert and it ended up being myself and my fiance only on the your, despite not having booked a private safari. Gert was brilliant. His knowledge of the park, animals and birds was encyclopaedic and entertaining. He had a great dry sense of humour, laid back and tried to facilitate our requests. The accommodation and food etc were nice, but the safari was just great. Highly recommended.

  • Three of us did the budget/economy tour and were surprised at how amazing it was for being a "budget tour". The drive to/from Johannesburg with Dez was smooth. The lodge was perfect; a really nice place and the meals were delicious. The best part of the tour was our guide, Robbie Williams. Robbie is extremely experienced and with him we saw the big 5 plus more. I would recommend nhongo to anyone!

  • Robbie was the most fantastic guide! He really took his time to explain everything to us and went out of his way to give us the best experience/time. Waking up for a game drive with him even after a short night was the biggest pleasure and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! Thank you so very much!!
