Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger Park (D)
Your Kruger Park ultimate safari departs from Nelspruit in your open safari vehicle and we make our way up to the Kruger National Park gate. We enter the park and continue up to our first camp which is our home for the evening. After check-in we give you time to enjoy lunch and to get settled in to your accommodation before departing on your first real game drive of the day returning to camp at gate closing time. Dinner will be served in the restaurant.
Day 2 : Kruger Park (B D)
Everything starts early in the Kruger National Park in order to have a greater chance of seeing game, so you’ll get a wake-up call early morning in order to get on the road when the gates open. It is time to load your bags before we depart from camp on your first full day of your 6 day ultimate safari in the Kruger National Park. We keep an eye open for rhino either taking a bath or scratching itself against a post. Like most game rangers, yours has the eyes of a hawk, and will draw your attention to game that may otherwise be difficult to see. We continue on your game drive stopping off for breakfast before enjoying another drive making our way to your next camp where we will check in. The afternoon is at leisure enjoying a siesta browsing in the shop or relaxing at the pool. Dinner will be enjoyed in the restaurant.
Day 3: Kruger Park (B D)
Another early morning start enjoying breakfast back at camp. Departing on another drive until mid - day returning to camp for lunch and a break from your open safari vehicle, before we depart once again late afternoon until gates closing. Dinner is once again enjoyed in the restaurant at 19h00.
Days 4: Kruger Park (B D)
Today we slowly make our way up to Central Kruger. It’s fortunate that your guide has heard about a lion kill just off the road, so we’ll make our way there to see what we can see. It seems that a pride of seven lions and lionesses have killed a Buffalo. Most of them have eaten their fill, and are now dozing with full bellies. A couple are still tearing pieces of flesh off the bones. A spotted hyena trots up but keeps a wary distance, outnumbered by the greater number of lions. A black-backed jackal arrives and decides to take his chances by dashing in and snatching odd scraps lying around under the wary eyes of the remaining lionesses.
We continue our Kruger Park ultimate safari with a drive up to Camp, stopping off at waterholes and dams along the way, where we should see plenty of wildlife. Lunch may be enjoyed at the camp before checking in to your bungalow. Time for a siesta, or a refreshing swim in the pool. We will depart on a short game drive before returning to camp at gate closing time. We hope to spot lions on the prowl or even a leopard. Our dinner will be served in the restaurant.
Day 5: Kruger Park – Moholoholo Forest camp (B L D)
This morning after an early morning game drive we return to camp for breakfast and bid our camp farewell as we make our way out the Orpen Gate towards Moholoho Forest Camp arriving mid-day for lunch.Moholoholo nestles on the slopes of the 1,944 metres high Mariepskop, one of the highest peaks of the Drakensberg range in this area. This affords a breathtaking view of the towering mountains and vertical cliffs on one side and the rolling Eastern Transvaal Lowveld savanna towards Kruger Park on the other. Visitors to Moholoholo can experience both Lowveld woodland as well as indigenous mountainous rain forest without leaving the Game Farm.
The Forest Camp comprises of 7 secluded double chalets and 1 family chalet all with en suite shower and bath as well as 2 brick chalets with en suite shower only. The main building is where the dining room and deck are situated. The deck overlooks a small shady waterhole under a canopy of large trees where nyala and bushbuck come to quench their thirst together with samango monkeys under the watchful eyes of birds such as green twin spots, paradise fly catchers and pygmy kingfishers. The waterhole is floodlit at night and visited by nocturnal animals such as bushpig, civet and porcupine. Our host and hostess’s sincere hospitality makes any visitor feel at home and “part of the family” within minutes after arriving. The lovely setting of the camp soon soothes away stress while the peace and quiet of unspoiled nature becomes a way of life. Country-style cooking enhances the intimate atmosphere experienced at Forest Camp. Wildlife includes waterbuck, kudu, eland, blue wildebeest, zebra, nyala, bushbuck, giraffe, warthog, bushpig, leopard, civet, serval, caracal, and many others. The prolific bird life makes Moholoholo a bird watchers paradise.
A visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is an unforgettable experience. A wide variety of birds and animals can be seen here, where Brian Jones and his team nurses and nurtures the injured and orphaned, rehabilitating them for release back to the wild. Guided tours through the Centre brings visitors in close contact with the rare and common species such as the lovely crowned and martial eagles, owls, vultures and a variety of raptors, serval, duiker, lions, leopard, wild dog hyena and many other animals and birds. As the concept at Moholoholo is based on the environment and nature, we do not have a swimming pool, television, radios, telephones or any shopping facilities. All meals are served buffet style
